Hey there, I’m Maureen!

I am a Learning Support Specialist, and I moved to Berlin in the summer of 2025 with my husband and our son. While I am from Arizona in the southwest United States, my husband was born and raised in Berlin, and we are very excited about our family’s move back home to Germany.  I earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Philosophy as well as a Master of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Special Education from the University of Oregon.

I have over twenty years of experience working in education and training of children through the design and implementation of specialized instruction and support plans including my work as a Public School Paraprofessional, Special Olympics Coach, Inclusive Recreation Companion, Registered Behavior Technician, Professional Development Facilitator, and Licensed Special Education Teacher.

Additionally, I am an experienced and collaborative team member and supervisor of classroom staff, a trustworthy partner to parents as the expert in their own child, and, above all, a caring advocate for my students.

While I have worked with people from 18 months though 52 years old, most of my experience is with students in elementary and middle school. I specialize in problem-solving the individualized learning and support needs of students related to their ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Executive Function, and Social-Emotional Skills.
